My father has been cutting out the "Love Is" panels out of his LA Times newspaper for years because they reminded him of his relationship with my mother. My mother recently passed away and my father showed me one that he keeps in his wallet. It says "Together all the way". They were married 62 years. Something so small can bring someone so much joy....Thank you.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts. I recently attended a 50th wedding anniversary celebration which reminded me of your lovely comments and the incredible 62 years of marriage your parents had. I think it was Andre Maurois who summed up a happy marriage when he said 'A happy marriage is a long conversation that always seems too short'.

Dear Mr Asprey, Thank you so much for dedicating your time in drawing Love is ... I have collected them since 1974 after being presented them by my mom. If it possible,I would like to see panels on Easter, Mother and Father's day. It's so good to open the papers and see panels connected to daily chores. Once again, thank you a million for making The Love is ... fans happy.

Hello Bill, My wife and I have cut out meaningful Love is... comics for each other for 30 years. One that is very dear to me has the and boy in a sailboat with the caption '...what puts the wind in your sails'. We are now retired and just purchased a sailboat which I would love to name Love is... if that would be possible. I would also like to put a small copy this of the original comic on her stern. Please let me know if this would be possible as I do not want to infringe on any copyrights. Thank you, Bob

I have been seeing Love Is ... comics since I was a teenager and recently started collecting them. I just found your website and found out that there were Sunday comics of Love Is ... for a British newspaper. Can you tell me where to find copies of these comics - I have never seen them in the US. Thanks

Dear Bill, I love "Love is." My mother and me used to keep each cartoon in a scrap book for several years. We used to smile each time we would browse through the book :) She passed away 4 years ago and last evening while clearing a drawer I saw the book again. It reminded me of my time with her and still remembered how much fun we had making our scrap book together :) Thank you for making her so happy when she was around! Much love, Aarti

Where can I retrieve all situations of "Love is"cartoons ?
20 Christina - 21/10/2013 @ 6:00 AM

I've always enjoyed "Love is..." Everyone makes me smile. Even when I'm not feeling much love in my life, reading one of your panels makes me feel the love. Thank you so much.

My mother in-law was a huge fan of Kim Casali's "Love is" comic. She adored the characters from a young age because her mother clipped them from every paper and posted them on the refrigerator claiming they looked just like her and her husband. My mother in-law's mother has recently passed away from breast cancer, and upon clearing out her house my mother in-law was very upset to find her favorite panel missing from the collection. The panel, from what she described to me, was the two characters and two children stating something along the lines of "Love is...Loving each other's children like they were your own". It would mean the world to her to have even a copy of this panel to see again. I cannot seem to find it anywhere and I would appreciate any help. Thank you so much, Happy Holidays!
22 Laura Souza - 25/03/2014 @ 7:28 AM

Brittany Bennet: I have a Love is ... panel similar to the one you are looking for: "Love is ... ... loving your stepchildren as you do your own." I can send it to you but I would need your e-mail.

Hello! My son will marry his beloved for 13 years on July 5 2014 - and I will make a speech to them based on Love is.... I had all my cuts "smart placed" easy to find not long ago, but now I do not remember where to find them..... I have saved the Love is in years - from the start, so it's a big stack missing. I am looking for the one which in Norwegian says: Kjærlighet er å ta vare på hverandre. Love is to take care of each other.... but this may be not the exact translation in English. Hope I have luck in the searching on Internet!

Hi Bill, 40 yrs ago when I met my husband, he put a clipping of 'love is' on every letter to me whilst he was away in the Navy.
We have been divorced 19 years now but there is a twist in this 'love is' tale. We have remained close friends for part of that time & now he has advanced cancer & once again we are together. He is the father of my three children & sense & sensibility says I am the one to look after him.
As it is his 70th birthday I was stuck with the dilemma of 'what sort of card do I buy' then I remembered how much those 'love is'clipping meant to both of us.
Luckily today with the technology I am able to hopefully make a card for him with one of your clippings saying "take one day at a time" which I found on the website.
I just really want to say a huge thank you for all those wonderful clippings which still remain with me in my treasure box, who knows one day my chest of love letters & clippings will make interesting reading.

I have loved the Love is comics for 38 years now, I'd cut them out of the newspapers and save them. I've lost them from moving place to place and thought I'd never see all of them again. I would love to have memorabilia from the Love is comics, keep up the great work and thank you so much for making me smile.

I love reading 'Love Is' but it's not being carried by Comics Kingdom anymore. How come?
28 Laura Mendes - 02/12/2014 @ 12:17 AM

After a great commotion about Love is ... panel (October 14), that's the only thing I can wonder. It's a pity. We cannot forget the daily harsh comments on their nudity.
So, the just have to pay for the sinners. The losers are us , the Love is ... fans. :(

It is with great sadness that I write that following a long battle with cancer, which my beloved wife Mercia could fight no more, she passed away at home on the 12 December 2014. She was, and always will be, my inspiration.
30 Helen - 03/01/2015 @ 8:16 AM

Mr Asprey I am so sorry to read this. You know we (the fans) are with you in spirit ,and me particularly I want to send you my deepest condolences. Sadly I am suffering at this point of cancer too and undergoing treatment. I know how hard it is for the family and the caretakers. The suffering is hard for those who have to witness it. I know there are no words that can help, but I wish God be with you and help you cope during these hard times.

The best for you

Ivonne (Love is fan since 1974)

Dear Mr. Bill Asprey,...I was a small girl when I was told to look to the news papers to help me to learn to read. I always read the funnies first thing. Now at well 56 going on fifty-seven next month. I have asked the Lord to restore to me some of my fondest memories of love and in an instant was the thoughts of me sounding out the first cartoon love is... with my mother. My family just celebrated her NINETIETH birthday. Here in Alaska it is cold. In the earlier cartoons was there one where the girl wore a scarf around her neck and was standing in the snow. I just read that your left with the memories of your precious wife. Here a new one surely God has your beloved she's at the top age and all her health has been returned she's dancing with the King of kings. Please let me know if there's such a cartoon I loved the ......love is. It did hell me find the fondest of my mind...soul...mate. God bless you this new year to be inspired and to know your still in love. as God is Love.
38 Monica - 26/01/2015 @ 7:02 PM

Dear Bill, I hope your day has been wonderful! I have collected these Love is... panels since I was 14 off and on, and in 2005 I was so thankful to have met a group of fantastic people who also collect. (Lorimars, Ivonne, Jessi G, Jacqueline, Wolfgang, Helen, and many many more). I was in an accident in 2010 and lost contact with most of the Love is.. group, till Loriemars contacted me just a few's days back to let me know they were being posted again here. I almost jumped over the moon, it was the best birthday present I could ever wish for( I was so Happy). Thank you so much from my whole heart for posting these lovely Love is... panels again on internet daily!
Bless you!!
Trina (lonsomdov)
